Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

What is Awana?

Awana is a Bible-based, Christ-centered program for children. It is an international Bible-centered youth ministry club whose primary goal is to teach boys and girls the Gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him.

The word Awana stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed and comes from the Bible verse 2 Timothy 2:15: "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."
Our program offers clubs for ages 2 through high school with segments for announcements, pledges, prayer, group lessons, scripture memorization, team-based games, theme nights and events.

Cubbies: Ages 3-4

In Cubbies, your child will be involved in activities that encourage real learning. This program provides a solid foundation for faith, based on God's Word. And it's fun, too! Cubbies participate in prayer and a Bible story, activity sheets, have visits from puppets, sing songs, and play non-competitive games.

The Cubbies earn patches for their uniforms by completing Bear Hugs. Each Bear Hug includes Scripture memorization and parent-child activities. The activities in club meetings each week are coordinated with the Bible truths the child learns at home. Different learning levers offer options that keep learning exciting and fun!

Throughout the year, the Cubbies learn the gospel using two letters and two key verses:

"A" Romans 3:23 "All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God"

"C" Romans 5:8 "While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us"

Our goal is that Cubbies learn the gospel clearly, with the hope that they take it with them throughout the rest of their lives.

Sparks: K-2nd grade

Sparks is the Awana club designed for children in Kindergarten through second grade, and it builds on the material taught in our preschool clubs. The aim of the program is to take this age group a step deeper into God’s Word, while giving unsaved boys and girls opportunities to hear the gospel and come to faith in Jesus Christ.

Sparky, the friendly firefly, encourages boys and girls to learn verses and complete handbook assignments.

Each handbook is firmly grounded in Scripture and features:

  • Basic truths about God, Jesus Christ, salvation, and the Bible

  • Increased emphasis on Scripture memory, focusing on salvation with key Christian doctrine that gives a clear and consistent presentation of the gospel message

T&T: 3rd - 6th grade

All 3rd through 6th graders are Awana T&T clubbers. Our goal is to teach these older children the truth of God's Word and train them to serve Him in their daily lives.
God's Word says, "Even a child is known by his doings" (Proverbs 20:11). We believe that once a clubber has trusted Jesus Christ as their Savior, he or she is able to serve Christ immediately. The handbooks include requirements that focus on serving others that help them develop this attitude.

Clubbers receive an award badge with places to mark the completion of each handbook segment. In addition to these regular sections, there are extra-credit sections (with special awards) throughout the handbooks. Clubbers will also receive a book completion patch to wear on their uniforms as each is completed.

Trek: 7th - 8th grade

Trek is a program for Middle School students. This program challenges students to wrestle with the three most important questions they’re asking in middle school. By allowing students to dive deep into the Scriptures and answer these questions for themselves we allow them to own their faith and discover what they believe.
His Story: This study helps middle school students understand God's story and answers the question, "Who am I?"
His Love: This study focuses on Jesus and His ministry, as told through the Gospel of Luke and answers the question, "Why am I here?"
His People: This study focuses on biblical community as told through the book of Acts and answers the question, "Who's with me?"
