What is MOPS?

MOPS stands for “Mothers of Preschoolers”, an international organization dedicated to helping moms celebrate motherhood, meet their needs, make connections, and experience God’s love.  We welcome all moms with children from pregnancy to kindergarten age to join us for a light breakfast, discussions on mothering topics, brief devotionals, crafts and fellowship!  This year's theme is "Adventures in Mothering".  We will be sharing and learning on topics related to our rollercoaster mothering experience.

Where and when does MOPS meet?  Is childcare provided?

MOPS meets on Tuesday once a month from 9:30 to 11:30 AM at Fredericktowne Baptist Church (FBC), where childcare is provided.  This year’s morning dates are: Sept. 9, Oct. 7, Nov. 11, Dec. 2, Jan. 13, Feb. 10, Mar. 10, Apr. 7, and May 5.

MOPS "Unplugged" is an exciting time of fellowship in a “coffee house atmosphere” at FBC, meeting one Tuesday evening each month from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  Childcare is NOT provided during this time.  This year’s evening dates are:  Sept. 23, Oct. 21, Nov. 18, Dec. 16, Jan. 27, Feb. 24, Mar. 24, Apr. 21, and May 19.

What if it snows or school is canceled?  If Frederick County Public Schools are delayed, have early dismissal or are canceled, MOPS will be rescheduled to a date to be announced.

What if my child is not feeling well? 

In order to best protect the health and comfort of all our children and childcare workers, it is FBC’s policy that children not be brought to MOPS with vomiting, diarrhea, pink eye, fever, or any other contagious symptoms within 24 hours of the MOPS meeting.

How much does it cost?

If you are visiting MOPS at FBC for the first time, there is no fee!  If you like what you experience, the yearly MOPS membership is $23.95, with suggested dues of $5 collected at each meeting to cover the costs of supplies and food.  If you would like to join MOPS at FBC but are unable to pay these costs, please let us know!  We have funds available to help.
